Weekly update and rally news…

Hi Everybody,

For Giselle and I it is still “business as usual” for this great chapter, despite the news from GWRRA headquarters. We are in a holding pattern, basically waiting to see what comes about. Our next chapter breakfast meeting is coming up on Saturday, July 16th. We will have some guests attending from the Legendary Sikh Motorcycle Club (friends of Mike Hoonjan) and a reporter from a local Sikh radio station. They want to celebrate the friendship and camaraderie we have enjoyed with them over the past few years. Please try to attend – ABC Restaurant on Schoolhouse Rd in Coquitlam. Breakfast at 9:00AM.

Giselle and I have been working tirelessly on the district rally – Wings in the Cariboo. Giselle is in charge of registration and has a huge task to make sure everybody that has registered gets the information needed to have an enjoyable weekend. I have been tasked to work with our rally print supplier (Amarjit at A1 Sports) to make sure all the rally paraphernalia has been ordered and will be delivered on time. Amarjit had done a phenomenal job of designing and getting the pins, t-shirts, banners, and print media completed and delivered on time. Patrick Frampton is organizing the Friday Show and Shine in downtown 100 Mile House. We have a Friday evening BBQ with a light parade and Ice Cream Social after, bike games, guided and unguided rides, a treasure hunt, a poker run ( exactly 100 miles) ,a guided trip to Barkerville, and a great catered banquet, along with a Sunday pancake breakfast to wind it all down. This event is shaping up to be a great weekend for all that are attending.

If you have not yet registered, there is still time. Just go to the rally site (https://wingsinthecariboo.com) and click on the registration link. You have the option to pay online or when you arrive at the site. Once registered, Giselle will make sure you get the information needed. All you have to do is make sure you have a motel room/campsite reserved. It currently looks like Chapter BC-A has the most members attending, but the count is very close…..

Giselle and I will be going up on the 21st (Thursday). I will be leading a ride up with anybody that wants to join. Meet at A&W/Timmies on Glenlyon Parkway at 7:00AM. Kickstands up at 8:00. We will be riding over the Duffey Lake Road. Everybody is welcome, even if not attending the rally. You can turn off at Lillooet or Cache Creek to return home if you aren’t going to 100 Mile.

After the rally, we have a ride planned to the US… Our annual Cascade Loop Ride is scheduled for Saturday August 13th. If you want to attend this ride, but can’t make it on a Saturday, we are open to doing it on the Sunday. A registration page will be posted shortly with a questionnaire to determine how many are interested and what day to go. The ride is a long one – all day, getting back into Vancouver early evening. The route is from Blaine, Washington with breakfast in Sedro Wooley and then a ride over the Cascade Highway 20 to Winthrop and then up to the Nighthawk border crossing near Osoyoos, and back home over the Hope-Princeton.

That’s all for now. As always, ride safe and enjoy your summer riding season.
