Giselle and I are on the last leg of our trip up into northern BC and Yukon. Currently enjoying sunny skies in Golden, heading to Nakusp. After the first three days of pouring rain, we broke out into nice weather up in Watson Lake, but not without some mechanical trouble. A huge thank you to our Gold Wing family and especially to Lee Stevens, Chapter Director for the Whitehorse gang. He took the alternator out of his personal ride and shipped it down to us in Watson Lake. We were back on the road the next day and did an extended ride all the way to Fort Nelson to catch up with Doug and Cathy Wilkins. If you have never travelled the Alaska Highway, you are missing out on some spectacular scenery with lots of wildlife and not too shabby roads.
Our ride calendar has the Kootenay Loop ride scheduled for this weekend. Giselle and I totally forgot about it, planning our own ride and working on getting things organized for the 100 Mile District Rally coming up next month . No rooms were booked and it is too late now to get things organized. If someone wants to step up and organize it, let us know and we can set you up with the necessary details.
Our next chapter event is the Anderson Lake Couples Picnic Ride which is on Sunday, July 10th.
Our next breakfast meeting is on Saturday, July 16th at the ABC restaurant in Coquitlam.
Our regular Saturday/Sunday coffee and ride are still going on , meeting at 8:00 at the A&W/Tim Hortons on Glenlyon Parkway in South Burnaby.
And don’t forget Tuesday evening coffee with Heinz at the Glenlyon Parkway location.
