What a busy weekend for Chapter BC-A. We had 13 members out on Saturday for our annual Duffey Lake Loop run. The weather couldn’t have been better with a mix of clouds and sunshine all day. Except for the detour through downtown Vancouver to skip by the construction delays on the Second Narrows Bridge, all had a great ride.
Yesterday was another successful ride out to Chilliwack to support Chapter BC-C with their annual Green Heart fundraiser. We showed up in force and I think we even outnumbered Chapter C in attendance – a tough thing to do! The ride that was organized by our own Patrick Frampton was a good one, slow and easy through many backroads of the upper Fraser Valley. I think we even found some new roads to ride! Chapter A member Bob Meiklejohn won the poker hand with four of a kind. Well done Bob! The food was good and lots of prizes were handed out. I am sure everyone had an enjoyable day.
Coming up this week:
- Tuesday evening coffee and ride – the Chapter Director will be at Annacis Island Wendy’s/Tim Hortons at 5:00 if anyone wants to join him. The food choices are better and a bit healthier, plus FREE COFFEE for seniors! If you want to go to McDonalds on Boundary and Lougheed, that is your decision. I just do not like the food choices and we already meet there twice a week in the mornings.
- Thursday evening dinner meeting – ABC Restaurant on Schoolhouse Road in Coquitlam. 6:00PM. Hopefully Giselle and I aren’t there for a dinner date by ourselves this month. If this does not pan out, we will try something new next month.
- NO ZOOM Meeting this week – we will be at ABC eating dinner….
- Saturday/Sunday weekend rides – nothing planned, but meet at McDonalds at 8:00AM and have a full tank and empty bladder…..you never know where we might ride to…
That’s all for now. Have a safe week and see you out there somewhere….
